9 Days Travel from Fes to Marrakech via the Sahara desert

Day 1: Airport – Fes:

Upon arrival to Fes, our driver picks you up to your riad in the heart of the Ancient Medina. Enjoy your dinner and Overnight stay in the traditional riad. End of our Fes Marrakech Desert Tours for that day.

Day 2: Exploring Fes:

After breakfast start exploring the oldest city in Morocco “Fes”, You’ll walk in the ancient alleys and small streets. First Our visit will be the Royal Palace gate, then the Jewish quarter which is the first Mellah ever in Morocco, built during the 14th century. Today just relax; you will visit all sites with historical an cultural interest whidh includes the famous Al Qaraouine University. This mosque is the oldest one in the world. Then visit the Tanneries and Mulay Idriss mausoleum. After enjoying lunch in a Moroccan restaurant, continue visiting the tiles cooperative while experiencing a wonderful panoramic view in the afternoon of the whole Medina of Fes ancient town. Finally back to the riad for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga:

Today in the early morning begin your Fes Marrakech Desert Tours,  traveling through the calm middle Atlas via Ifrane town “Moroccan Switzerland”. Then we’ll take a short stop at the cedar forest in Azrou for to see Cedre Gouraud Tree and visit the Barbary apes in their natural habitat. From here drive towards the south and cross several towns, getting the opportunity to see nomads who live in tents alongside the way, also see the volcanic rocks. Then stop in Midelt and enjoy your lunch before crossing the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (1907m) and enjoying the panoramic views, Ziz Gorge and the tunnel. Near Errachidia town, glimpse the Barrage Hassan Al-Dakhil with its turquoise blue water. then our trip Continues to Erfoud, stopping for a panoramic view of Aoufous palmeraie along the magnificent Ziz River. After crossing Erfoud we take the off road to reach the hotel on the foot of the dunes. enjoy dinner and overnight stay in a Hotel.

Day 4: Erg Chebbi – Khamlia – Rissani – Merzouga (desert ):

After breakfast begin your explorative journey of the area by visiting first the nomads who live in tents made from goat hair and learn more about the desert life. Then continue to visit the Gnaoua people, originally slaves from Sudan, with them you’ll have the chance to listen to their unique music and learn the culture and lifestyle. If you visit the desert on a specific time of the year, you can see the lake of Merzouga with the bird population like the “Flamingos”. Then on the afternoon drive to the Sahara desert camp and explore the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi mighty dunes. On this Fes Marrakech Desert Tours, enjoy the beauty of the Sahara with the sunset over the golden dunes; then enjoy your dinner in the camp and spend your first night beneath the stars, or if in the tents as you wish. Our camp has western bathrooms.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani Market – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges:

Wak up very earlier so as not to miss the sunrise over the dunes, then enjoy breakfast and trek back to the hotel again for hot shower and new journey. After packing your luggage depart to Rissani and visit to Zawiya Moulay Ali ash-Sharif. You may also stroll in the Souk (local market) and see the Fondouks where donkeys gather. Our drive will continue toward Tineghir crossing Erfoud town “the capital of marble fossil”. On this Fes Marrakech Desert Tours,  you will view the Khatarat (Canal irrigation system).Then stop is in Tinejdad or Tineghir for lunch. After lunch we will continue our trip alongside the river then we reach the gorges. In the gorges you’ll hike/Walk on foot andc explore this stunning place while enjoying the incredible views of high rock walls (up to 300 meters). After that drive to Boumalne Du Dades and its gorges, you’ll have time to explore Dades gorges, see the rock formations “fingers of monkeys, human bodies”. Dinner and overnight stay in a Hotel.

Day 6: Dades Gorge – Dades Valley – Valley of the Roses – Kelaa M’gouna – Skoura – Ouarzazate:

After breakfast your journey will start with a short exploration of the gorges with rock formations “human bodies, fingers of monkeys”. After dades gorges we cross Boutghrar trail which will lead us to El-Kelaâ M’Gouna. We’ll stop to visit one of the Nomad families who live in caves, there you’ll be introduced and you’ll get to know about the way of life while relaxing and enjoying the taste of a nice sweet cup of tea. Continue the trip and take off the road to reach El-Kelaâ M’Gouna, there enjoy your lunch. After lunch our drive continue to Ouarzazate city, along the way enjoy the views of Valley of Roses and the road of one thousand Kasbahs, in addition to Skoura palmerie. Visit the incredible Kasbah of Amerhidil which is in Skoura Oasis, you’ll be mesmerised with the formidable Palm Groves and beautiful sights of the Atlas Mountains. Finally arrive to Ouarzazate and admire the Taourirt Kasbah views which was built by the Glaoui dynasty. ENJOY Dinner and spend the night at the Hotel.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou – Telouet – Tizi N’Tichka – Marrakech:

After breakfast enjoy your morning by visiting the Atlas films Studios, then head to the village of Aït Benhaddou. This village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and there visit this exotic Kasbah which is situated on a hill along the fertile river of Ounila. In the first place it’s famous due to the role of hosting numerous films like The Man Who Would Be King, Jewel of the Nile, Jesus of Nazareth, The Mummy, The Message, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator. Later we continue our drive to Telouet, break for lunch will be in the Kasbah and then explore it. Drive along the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass which is for about (2260m) and stop on the way to make the best photos and enjoy at the same time the panoramic views of High Atlas Mountains with its Berber villages alongside the road. Your Dinner and overnight in the Riad.

Day 8: Exploring Marrakech:

Today on this Fes Marrakech Desert Tours, and after breakfast begin to discover the red city of Morocco “Marrakech”. With the most visited and superb sites of cultural and historical interest you’ll see the Saadian tombs, the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Bahia Palace. Then near the famours square of Marrakech take your delicious traditional lunch and stroll in the local souks to see hundreds of handicrafts. In the afternoon, take your complete free time to wander in the city by yourself through its other parts. Dinner and overnight in riad.

Day 9: Marrakech – Airport:

On the last day of your Fes Marrakech Desert Tours, take your breakfast in the hotel and your driver will drive you to the airport for your departure flight, tour ends at Marrakech airport.
