First day: Agadir-Taroudant-Taliouine- Foum Zguid
Journey starts from Agadir at 8 O’clock directed to Taroudant which is famous as “the Little Marrakesh” by 4WD. The attraction of this place is exclusive panoramic view. The journey continues to Tilouine. This is the hub of saffron growing and to reach here we will cross two passes to reach Kourkouda and Taznakht. One pass is Tizi-n-Tighatine and another is Tizi-n-lkhsane. We have to stop here for lunch break. This small township is popular for carpets and Berber gelims. From this town we will head to the South of Sahara and we will reach to Foum Zguid for the night stay.
Second day: From Foum Zguid to Chegaga Dunes
After Finishing breakfast, we will start our journey for Sahara situated crossway of the Lake Iriqui which is dried up now. Once this lake used to be fed by the water of river Dra’a and remained filled with fish and varied water birds. We can notice fossils just in the middle of the lake. This trail will surely make you feel about the life of the desert. Halt for the lunch will be at Cheggaga which is situated in the remote areas and from the civilization. Now you can climb up at the top of the lofty dunes to view the Sunset. Tents for the travelers will be set up at the foot of this sandbank to spend the night.
Third Day: Journey from Chegaga to M’hamid
Journey to M’hamid will be started just after finishing the breakfast. This is another 60 KM journey on the desert road. To reach M’hamid we need to cross the Sacred Oasis. After reaching here you will be taken to visit the ancestral house of Abdelhadi. It is located within an old village, opposite of Dra’a River. To watch the sunset and to have a camel ride, you need to be at Erg Lihoudi. Here again, we need to spend the night in temporary tents designed for travelers.
Forth Day: Continue from M’hamid to Agdez
Post breakfast, we will take the way north throughout Zagora. Within the famous Dra’a Valley, this is a small township and largest Oasis too. This place is famous for cultivation of dates. From here we will follow the route of old Caravan. Previously Caravans used this route to bring treasures from Mauretania or Mali. During the journey, you will pass through mountains and river and this will surely give you an impression about this region of Morocco. At Kasbah Tamnougalte which is the ancient Kasbah in the famous Dra’a Valley, we will stay for the night.
DayFifth Day: travel through Agdez – Tansikht – N’Qob – Tizi-n-Tazzazzert – Tinghir – Todra Gorges
You can take a view of the Kasbah after breakfast and here you will find some population in some parts whereas other parts have been crumbled. Now it is time to get back. We will take reverse nearly 20 kilometers down the valley. Just crossing the river, we will surely reach the road. For lunch we will take stop at N’Qob within a small Kasbah. Post lunch, it is the time now to travel to north direction for Tizi-n-Tazazert pass. Here you will get the view of exclusive volcanic rock. The mountain range is known at Saghro and you will surely be fortunate to notice the tents of Ait Atta. This is the last tribe which fought against the colonization of the French here. For night stay we will move on to Tinghir and Toundra Gorges.
DaySixth day: Journey from Todra Gorges through Dades and Valley of the Roses – Skoura to Ouarzazate
Completing the breakfast, it is the time to move on to the west to Dades. Here you will be able to observe some excellent stony formations which are famous as “the monkey fingers”. Well, again it is the time to go off-road for Berber nomads to visit their caves. Here you can share a glass of tea with them. Then you will be taken through Valley of Roses which is famous for its Rose Festival which organized in the month of May every year. For night we will stay in the Riad.
Seventh Day: from Ouarzazate to Ait Ben Haddou and back to Agadir
You will be taken to Kasbah Taourirt after breakfast. This was in the possession of thami Glaoui, the last Pasha of Marrakesh. Ait ben Haddou, another famous Kasbah will be visited from here. This place has become popular as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Now it is the time to return to Agadir and we will drop you in the hotel of your preference.
